Sundays: There might be one bus sporadically but there is no guarantee...
As a general rule: Avoid traveling in Nicaragua on Sundays: public transportation is very limited.

The main road from Moyogalpa to Altagracia is 25 km long, running south of volcano Concepción. The northern loop to Altagracia via San Marcos is only 18 km long but takes longer time as it's a rough dirt road.

Ometepe's infrastructure has seen a great improvement in recent years by the construction of a smooth new brick road which spans now a large part of the circular road around Ometepe. The remaining, unpaved stretches of road are now only from Balgue until Santa Cruz (Finca Porvenir) and from Altagracia to Moyogalpa. See: Map of Ometepe.

There is no public transportation on the 14 km of dirt road between Balgüe and San Ramon.
